Hello everyone,
We would like to provide you with an update on the production of the quartz model No. 51 Red & Blue, along with a updated schedule.
Currently, we are experiencing a delay of 40 days compared to the schedule shared in April. We will receive all the remaining components within the next 30 days, with assembly of the models taking place end of July / begining of august.
We sincerely apologize for this delay and are doing our best to accelerate the process.
As communicated in the news update #5 on April 12th, we conducted a final round of prototyping earlier this year to improve various components and assess our suppliers once again. In addition to that, 2023 has been a highly active year in the watch industry, with a shortage of materials that has delayed the production of certain parts. Please find bellow the the updated schedule:
1 .Components (case, hands, dial)
Our quality control department has approved all the parts, the components are now in transit and will be delivered to our assembly workshop in Switzerland on June 25th. You will find the very first photos of the production series below.
Serial part - machining
2. Movement & Moondisc
The Ronda manufacturers in charge for the Normtech 708 caliber are also on schedule. All the calibers have already been delivered, and we are now awaiting the modified moon disks from PERFEX, which will also be delivered begining of July.
3. Leather Goods & Strap
As mentioned in news update #3, we visited the SIS leather workshop in Franche-Comté in late January to select the leathers and meet the teams. You can find the key details in our dedicated article about the manufacturing process and the origin of the leather.
The Masters (first series pieces) were approved in early May, and production was initiated during that same period. We confirm that all the straps are equipped with a fastening system (quick strap), a hot-stamped logo on the Alsavel lining, and an engraved stainless steel buckle. Regarding the color choice, you should have received an email in early April. If that's not the case, please contact us at contact@mun-watches.com.
The production of the approximately 200 18mm straps is slightly delayed. The SIS workshop estimates that the pieces will be delivered by July 6th. As mentioned, this setback pushes the entire schedule to the second half of July.
4. Packaging
The manufacturer has met its deadlines, and the final packagings are currently in transit. They are expected to be delivered to our storage warehouse in Alle, Switzerland, by the end of the week.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for this additional delay and we are doing our best to expedite the process with our factories.
We will regularly share with you all the updates regarding the production of your models, all the way until delivery. In the coming weeks, we will travel to Switzerland specifically to film and share with you the assembly of this first collection.
For any specific inquiries, please feel free to contact us directly at contact@mun-watches.com.
We stay at your disposal,
The Mu:n Team
