THIS EDITION WAS PRODUCED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FRENCH ASTRONOMY ASSOCIATION TO CELEBRATE THE 2025 NIGHT OF THE STARS EVENT

MU:N, OFFICIAL PARTNER OF THE NIGHTS OF THE STARS 2025 EVENT

The Night of the Stars, organized since 1991 by the French Astronomy Association (AFA), is a major free national event dedicated to the discovery of the night sky. Each summer, more than 500 events are organized across France by nearly 350 clubs, associations, and local authorities, bringing together tens of thousands of enthusiasts around telescopes, workshops, and conferences. The 2025 edition will be held from August 1 to 3, with the poetic theme "The Oceans of the Sky."

Through this new edition, Mu:n is proud to partner with this national initiative and support the AFA, in order to strengthen the dialogue and poetry that unite the worlds of watchmaking and astronomy.

ENLARGING THE SKY ON A MODIFIED SELLITA CALIBER

Built on a Sellita SW288 base, the movement has undergone several modifications: removal of the day disc, replacement of the moon kit and rearrangement of the components to enlarge the area dedicated to the moon. The resulting disc occupies more than 65% of the dial.

A central, slightly opaline plexiglass reveals the lower part of the disc and reinforces the play of depth. This three-level construction allows the moon disc to blend completely into the very structure of the watch.

A BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO UNIVERSES

FROM THE INFINITELY LARGE TO THE INFINITELY SMALL

Astronomy and watchmaking are two worlds on opposite scales but driven by the same obsession: observing and measuring time. It is with the same childlike gaze and the same emotion that we contemplate the immensity of the night sky or the infinite and regular ballet of a movement.

Through the Nuit des Etoiles series, we wish to strengthen the dialogue between these two worlds, celebrating the magic of mechanics and the beauty of the night sky.

A RELIEF MOON IN 8 MILLIMETERS

The Moon, fully luminescent (BGW9), is built on a realistic representation of the star. A femto laser, precise to the micron and at a frequency of 10⁻¹⁵ seconds, is used to dig and burn the material at different intensities. Each crater is revealed and turns brown, with a relief perceptible to the naked eye.

This innovative printing method is a first in the watchmaking sector. It was developed in collaboration with the miniaturization workshop AJS Production , which was awarded at the EPHJ trade fair in 2016 in Geneva.

1991 SKY MAPPING

The disk is an exact map of the sky on the day of the first night of the stars in 1991. The reproduction of this map is accurate to the micron, or 0.001 millimeter.

The so-called first-magnitude stars are dug deeper to reveal the SuperLuminova beneath the paint layer. The constellations light up at night.

A SKY THAT COMES TO LIFE AT NIGHT

The moon disc contains Super-Luminova.

Introduced in 1993, this photoluminescent pigment captures light and releases it in the dark. The Nuit des Etoiles series lights up at nightfall and transmits a soft light in the darkness.

AN ODE TO ASTRONOMIC POETRY

A DOUBLE FINISH DIAL ON THREE LEVELS

The dial is composed of two separate pieces, nested on two levels. The central moon, located on a third plane below the main dial, accentuates the depth of this tiered architecture.

The outer part of the dial features a “cocktail” finish made of cold enamel, providing a smooth, shiny surface with great visual depth. The slightly translucent inner part subtly conceals the lower part of the moon disc.

The straight baton-shaped indexes and hands contrast with the dial's softness. Their alternating polished and brushed finishes capture every ray of light. Like a shooting star, this light glides along the edges, bringing the watch to life with every movement of the wrist.
